Recent updates to the planet observation station

Colleagues, we have enhanced the functionality of the planet observation station. The design has been updated, functionality improved, and performance on mobile devices and with weak internet connections has been accelerated. I would like to remind you that our station displays satellite images almost in real-time, includes layers for identifying environmental issues, and detects potential wildfire hotspots using satellite data.

The full-screen mode has been significantly improved: you can now expand the map to full screen while keeping the control panel accessible. We have also added the ability to quickly take a screenshot if you need to document an environmental issue. In the fire management panel, you can copy a comprehensive report for the selected area — this is very convenient for regional media and environmental organizations.

We have compiled a list of upcoming tasks. I believe we will add additional features as previously planned, such as maps of intact territories (untouched wilderness areas) and other technical solutions for rapid analysis of environmental issues.

You can test it here: https://pavel-pashkov.com/en/earth-station

We will continue to improve and develop the station, creating a modern infrastructure for the protection of wildlife. Everything is, of course, free, open, and accessible to everyone. Our work is the work of the entire society in the fight for Life!
