Petition system in our projects

Our new conservation initiative, Protection programs, will soon receive an important upgrade. Every future campaign will include a fully functional petition system—but without collecting or disclosing any personal data. Instead, we are introducing a system of electronic signatures that will issue a certificate and a unique identification number to every participant. Everyone will be able to instantly receive their own PDF certificate online. These are difficult times, when even speaking openly about environmental problems is increasingly discouraged. That is precisely why we have a responsibility to protect every person who stands with us in the fight for Life. There will be no "lists of names to hand over to officials"—now or ever. Frankly, that would probably be one of the most foolish things anyone could do under the current circumstances.

We have developed our own system, and it has already proven highly effective in our previous Public Initiatives. It will now be integrated into our new projects and long-term wildlife protection programs. This means that every representative of the state institutions we engage with will clearly see how many people support a project and will be able to objectively assess the consequences of ignoring society, dismissing environmental problems, or responding with meaningless form letters.

The visible level of public engagement will also be available to major media outlets, which are generally more willing to cover environmental issues when they see strong public interest. Moreover, we are currently integrating a module that will automatically notify media organizations at the project administration level.

This system will also allow us to strengthen our collective appeals to government agencies with the support of a large number of participants, while every participant will be represented by a unique electronic signature. No names, no personal information—your participation will be confirmed solely through your unique identification number.

In the traditional sense, petitions have long since stopped working—I have written about this before. But today we are the first, and currently the only organization, using them as an entirely different instrument: one that allows us to conduct public negotiations aimed at solving environmental problems. I hope everyone understands that simply collecting a list of names and handing it to a government official only benefits the bureaucratic system. It becomes much easier to issue a single generic response for everyone, throw those voices into the trash, or even deal with each individual "preventively," than to respond to a large and active public movement demanding real solutions.

That is why our signatures serve as a public metric of public engagement, while every participant continues to speak openly, loudly, and consistently about the issue itself. Additional coordinated actions will continue through our already established Green page, where collective participation is organized. We believe this is the right methodology for effective public advocacy.

These changes are already being implemented. A technical update will be released soon, and immediately afterward we will launch the next wildlife protection programs as planned. We will continue fighting for Life, using every lawful tool available to us, supported by modern technologies and by an ever-growing community of people who refuse to remain silent.

I only wish we could move faster. This work is difficult and time-consuming—especially under constant pressure and amid the social and political turmoil surrounding us. My sincere gratitude goes to everyone who remains with us and continues this Mission in the fight for Life.
