Time to move toward the noosphere

If the sum of capital and the number of wealthy people grow during chaos, economic and social upheavals, while scientists are ignored and science itself is essentially isolated from society and power, then the systemic crisis is, to an extreme degree, being manipulated by those who benefit from it. At some point, the “fog of chaos” will lift: the rich will become even richer, and the poor even poorer.

I rely on real data. In recent years, the stratum of the super-rich in our country has grown sharply: according to Forbes, in 2022 there were 83 billionaires with a combined fortune of about $320 billion, and by 2026 there were already 147 billionaires with a fortune of about $649 billion.

At the same time, our protected-area system is being turned into an object of “development,” precisely because nature is a source of wealth extraction. We are seeing right now how everything they can reach is being torn apart: Baikal, Lago-Naki, Losiny Ostrov, Moscow’s protected areas, draft laws weakening the protection regime of nature reserves, red-listed animals, rare plants, and fungi.

It is precisely against this that hundreds of Russian scientists have tried to speak out in recent years. No fewer than 120 scientists called for stopping the construction of a resort on the Lago-Naki Plateau, part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site “Western Caucasus.” On Baikal, five scientific councils of the Russian Academy of Sciences opposed the weakening of the lake’s protection, and later 87 scientists and environmentalists submitted an appeal against a draft law allowing clear-cutting and other relaxations. Against bill No. 1096223-8, which threatens the entire system of protected areas, 89 scientists and specialists first spoke out, and after the first reading, more than 120 academicians, corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, directors of nature reserves, and honored ecologists joined them.

As you can see, scientists and society are trying to fight. But the majority are distracted by chaos, while already super-rich groups continue to grow richer.

I believe that we will be able to move toward the formation of the noosphere, which the great Russian scientist Vladimir Vernadsky wrote about in his works, precisely when people understand that it is time to form a collective intelligence, at the center of which must stand science protected by a public institution. But for this to happen, millions of people must trigger an immune response within our organism. That is why it is important to fight for Life and pass this struggle on. Otherwise, society will continue to rush around aimlessly in panic under the managed chaos of enriching groups.
