A new version of the Earth Observation Station has been launched.

We have completed the update of the Earth Observation Station service.

— You can now take a screenshot of a selected region for a specific date with wildfire hotspots displayed — literally with a single click.

— When monitoring wildfires, you can move around the map and see hotspots only within the currently visible area. Other points are loaded automatically as you move across the map.

— We have added an additional semi-transparent radius around each fire hotspot so that you do not lose track of important points and can roughly assess the possible scale of fire spread. By clicking on any point, you can view information about the fire intensity, the satellite, and other data.

— A separate control panel has now been developed under the “Show Fires” button. By default, high- and medium-intensity fires are enabled, while low-intensity fires are disabled. If you need them, simply click the “Low” button. You can also display all points at once, select an FRP level, and even copy a full report: click the button and instantly receive all current information from the map. This makes it possible to publish daily regional monitoring reports, which can be useful for local communities and the media.

— And, of course, bugs and other issues have been fixed. For example, there was a serious server overload problem when tens of thousands of hotspots were loaded simultaneously. Everything has now been optimized and should work properly.

Let me remind you that our station is free and available to everyone. It allows you to locate fire hotspots on a global map in real time, identify forest and wildfires, conduct monitoring, and much more.
