Reflections on the map of the existing protected area system of the world.

It is difficult to create our own interactive map with the necessary layers of existing protected areas — that is, to bring those fragments of protected territories that still exist into an independent infrastructure. But it would be very convenient to overlay the boundaries of future TFET zones on top of them in an interactive format. My team is working on this now; I hope we will find possible solutions, and then we will continue refining the existing infrastructure.

For now, I have hit a bit of a pause: I carried out my first observations in the area of the Tien Shan mountain ranges, but without in-depth study. After the next routes through Southeast Asia, I want to return and begin my personal research with the Western Tien Shan, moving deeper inland, with an eventual route toward the Altai and Sayan Mountains in Russia. But I have stalled on mapping and on studying maps of existing protected areas: in practice, everything is much more difficult than I had previously assumed.

So we will move more slowly and steadily. The main thing is to continue the expeditionary and research work. In the near future, I will prepare separate materials with my observations and tell people what I am seeing and what is important to consider when creating Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET). There are interesting things: I have already visited reforestation sites, which are being used in an attempt to stabilize the foothills, as well as some aquifers. In general, I am studying everything gradually. There was a great deal I did not know before — which once again confirms the critical importance of direct contact, study, and experience.

At this point, I honestly cannot imagine how it is possible to promote the creation of TFET zones without having been to these regions and without having seen the conservation system with your own eyes.

Do not even think that we might fail — we will change this world. We are already doing work of planetary importance. Gradually, when we manage to take the “reins” into our own hands, we will strengthen our position so much that our struggle will become a symbol of a new era.
