Interactive TFET map: first version now available for testing!

Protected areas have been added to the interactive TFET map. Not all of them yet, as we are currently compiling geodata from various sources, studying, comparing, and updating them. We plan to launch the full functionality of the map no earlier than January 2027 — we simply cannot do it faster.

Currently:

— A new interface with a bottom panel has been developed, and information with geodata sources has been added under the exclamation mark icon at the top of the map.

— Adaptation for mobile devices with full-screen mode has been implemented, allowing for easy and convenient exploration of the map from any device.

— We are still refining the internal functionality. Two members of my team will manually add existing reserves and protected natural areas to the map under my personal supervision.

Thus, you can already explore the changes, test the map and its functionality. The first part of the geodata from open global sources suitable for integration is available. However, the database of protected areas is still incomplete and continues to be updated.

We are now embarking on the most challenging part of the work: in November and December 2026, we need to manually add the missing protected areas of Russia, national parks, and reserves to the interactive map. Currently, only about 400 areas are marked, while there are over 2500. The data varies everywhere, so we will manually collect data by region, compare, and seek the most recent and relevant information.

We aim to complete the formation of the main database of existing protected areas in Russia by the end of December 2026. In January 2027, we plan to proceed with verifying the completeness and accuracy of the geodata, refining the functionality, and launching the full version of the map. Data updates will continue even after the launch.

This will be a very important first step. Next, we need to start defining the boundaries of the future global protected system, overlaying the green zones with red Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility.

Our internal infrastructure is becoming truly extensive — we have almost implemented everything necessary. It has been long and difficult. But extremely important!

You can test the map on the TFET project page: https://pavel-pashkov.com/concept

In the future, millions of people will be able to visually see what we propose and how the appearance of the global protected system needs to change.
