Preparing to launch the bear extermination registry: a comprehensive online service

Tomorrow, we are launching the updated bear extermination registry on a national scale. Additionally, for the first time, a permanent infrastructure will be deployed in the form of an online service with an interactive map of regions: by clicking on a selected region, one can see how many bear hunting quotas were issued there in previous years and how many have been issued for the upcoming year.

This means that on a national scale, anyone can conduct analytical work, investigate the issue, and see the full scope of what is happening.

Additionally, a section with questions and answers specifically on this issue will be launched: what is happening with the bears, whether there is data on their actual numbers, how to work with our registry, and why it is important.

For the first time, society and the media will have the opportunity to obtain up-to-date information, gather necessary data on bear hunting, see which regions are particularly critical, and then study the problems of specific regions based on this data.

We collect data manually, work with official decrees from regional leaders, count, analyze, and present information in the registry. Now the project will become permanent. I remind you that this is one of the most pressing issues that previously faced enormous pressure.

The situation surrounding bears can be used to assess the state of biological systems in the future. Data on their encounters with humans, conflict levels, and the scale of hunting must be compared with maps of deforestation, forest fires, and the development of wild nature.
