Got dengue fever for the second time.
I’ve fallen ill, my friends. For the second time in recent years, I’ve come down with dengue fever. The first time I got sick was during an expedition through equatorial jungles — I barely pulled through and couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. But I made it. It was a severe case. And now it appears to be a second type of dengue. There are four types in total, and with each subsequent infection the body responds differently, while the risk of severe disease and death can increase. But now I already know how to deal with it — using traditional methods that are also supported by scientific research.

The photos are actually from the last time. This time it is easier. I have immunity to the first dengue type, and I was prepared for the second. Although the risks can be higher with a subsequent infection, when you understand how to act in an emergency, it seems possible to help the body pull through. And if I joke about it, does that mean I only have two more infections left before I’ve crossed all four thresholds?
It is difficult. The complications are serious, and rehabilitation afterward is long. I will not be able to properly handle long-distance routes for some time. I estimate several months, with a recovery program and constant training. Otherwise, the risk of further complications can rise sharply, including thrombosis and even sudden death.
So far, I have only just managed to get back to work — studying further scientific research and reviewing the situation with our current projects. If my activity suddenly drops, know that I am not doing well.
