Interactive service for global ecological collapse
We aim to create an interactive service with in-depth analytics on the large-scale destruction of wildlife, where users can access information and visually grasp the scale of ecological collapse online without needing to delve into complex scientific studies or read extensive articles.
What if there were comprehensive interactive graphs that allow immediate assessment of the problem's global nature? For instance, a pie chart where 70% in red indicates the extent of reduction already occurred, 20% in yellow represents what is on the brink, and the remaining part is marked in green. This format would immediately convey the scale of the situation, and by clicking on individual sections, users could access brief summaries, sources, and analysis methodologies.
This is not about displaying graphics as images and painstakingly filling them manually; it will be an interactive interface with its own development, updated regularly, offering both surface-level data (on scale) and the opportunity to delve into comprehensive studies, revealing the chain of scientific work and meta-research.
I propose the following: we will consolidate authoritative sources—approximately 40 major and regularly updated meta-analyses and data sets from around the world. These data will be analyzed, distilled into specific facts, and presented in an interactive format in the new service.
Additionally, we will develop a system that tracks new facts, scientific works, and data in real-time, gathers this information, and then our specialists will manually verify it and periodically update the data in the interactive service.
Furthermore, I suggest developing our own API solution. This will enable developers and any third-party projects to quickly integrate our interactive graphs into websites, mobile applications, and other digital products.
We also need to create ready-made codes for visual output of analytics in the media. Such materials can be embedded with time-stamped links directly in articles, publications, or as widgets on websites.
This is a complex task, but it could create a powerful tool for analyzing ecological issues, visually demonstrating the scale of the planetary crisis, and providing modern mechanisms for integrating this data into any projects. All of this—free, open, and transparent!
We, in turn, will connect this service with the Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET) project and use the data obtained to prepare further justifications for the need to change the existing global conservation system.
However, I also propose that since the project will be free and open, we should immediately integrate linear information about TFET into it. This way, everyone using and distributing our technology can simultaneously spread information about the project, helping to create public demand around it beyond political and social boundaries.
We are currently planning this entire system. The development will be expensive and challenging, taking a lot of time, but I believe we will accomplish it. Scientific accuracy is extremely important. If we begin implementation, I will announce it separately! I believe creating such a tool is a long-overdue and highly necessary task.
